Before installing
Do I need technical knowledge?
No. You add a zip file to WordPress and paste a key. The setup assistant does the rest. The Install ARDOIZA page shows every click.
Which plan do I need?
The WordPress plugin is included in the Basic plan (one website) and the Pro plan (three websites). Compare them in My plan.
Do I have to install all three plugins?
No. Install Ardoiza Click & Collect for takeaway ordering, Ardoiza Bookings for tables, or both. Ardoiza Customers then brings your customers together: install it last.
How long does it take?
Five minutes to install. A few more minutes to bring a GloriaFood menu across, mostly because of the photos.
Which version of WordPress do I need?
WordPress 6.0 or later, with PHP 8.1 or later. Your host can tell you which PHP version you have.
During installation
Where do I find my licence key?
In your customer area, in the Licence and plugin section. Click “Reveal my key”. You need two-factor authentication, which you switch on from Security.
The setup assistant did not open
It opens when you activate Ardoiza Click & Collect. You can find it at any time in “Ardoiza Orders”, under “Setup”.
I closed the page during the import
Nothing is lost. Open the setup assistant again and click “Resume the import”. It carries on where it stopped, without creating anything twice.
The setup assistant cannot find my GloriaFood account
Paste the address of the page where your customers used to order, then click “Find my account”. Everything is explained in Coming from GloriaFood.
Some photos are missing after the import
A photo over 5 MB or in a format that is not recognised is left out. At the “All set” step, click “Retry the photos”. You can also add the photo by hand in “Products”.
Day to day
What is my menu page for?
Your menu page is a page in your name, such as carte.ardoiza.fr/restaurant-name, included in every plan. It is used for the QR code on your tables, the purchase page of your gift cards and review requests. If you already have a website, it does not need it to take your bookings and your orders. When your website takes your bookings, your menu page leads there: with a hosted website, through the “Book a table” button; with a WordPress website, through the “Book on the restaurant's website” button, once your subscription is paid (not during the free trial).
Do I have to publish my menu page?
Not necessarily. Choosing its address in My menu publishes nothing. To sell gift cards (Basic, Essential and Pro plans), the page does not need to be published: the address is enough, with the other steps of the Gift cards section. Publishing shows your menu to everyone, through the QR code on your tables, and Google can show it in its results. This requires a complete legal notice and at least one dish. Review requests, however, need a published page.
Do my old GloriaFood buttons still work?
Yes. The pages and buttons that carried GloriaFood are kept: they now open ARDOIZA. There is nothing to edit.
Do my customers pay online?
Yes, if you switch it on, in the Basic, Essential and Pro plans. Your customers pay by card on Stripe's secure page, into your own Stripe account, linked from My website or from the plugin's “Online payment” screen. You choose: payment off (paid in person on collection), customer's choice, or required. ARDOIZA takes no commission and never holds the money; Stripe's fees remain yours to pay. The details are on the Online payment page.
Does ARDOIZA take a commission on my orders?
No. You pay your subscription, and nothing else. No commission is taken on your sales.
Can I offer delivery?
No, by choice. ARDOIZA focuses on collection in person (Click & Collect) and table booking, with no commission. If you deliver today, keep your delivery solution for that.
Are allergens compulsory?
Yes. Each dish asks for its allergens, when it is created and every time it is edited. Tick those it contains, or “None of the 14 allergens”. An older dish, or one brought across from GloriaFood, has no allergen information until you complete it.
My hosted website shows sample dishes
Your GloriaFood menu was not imported when the website was created, so a sample menu was added. Its dishes are shown marked “Sample menu” and your customers cannot order them. In “Ardoiza Orders”, “Products”, choose “Keep these dishes” (they can then be ordered like any other dish) or “Delete them”. A sample dish that you rename becomes yours.
As long as some remain, the My website page of your client area reminds you, and “Publish my website” asks you to confirm. On your website, when you are logged in, the same reminder appears above the menu, for you only: a test order cannot include these dishes.
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes, with the Pro plan, for your hosted website. In My website, “My domain name” card, enter the full name, for example www.your-restaurant.com. The client area shows you the single record to create with the provider that manages your domain: a CNAME pointing to the address shown in the card. If your domain is managed at Cloudflare, create it in “DNS only” mode (grey cloud).
After that, everything is automatic: we check regularly, the security certificate is issued for you and your website responds at your domain name, usually within a few minutes, and up to 24 hours. Its usual address then redirects to it. For the root name (without www), have it redirect to www with your provider. Your email addresses do not change.
Where to click at OVHcloud, IONOS, Gandi, o2switch, Hostinger, LWS, GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Squarespace or Wix: follow the illustrated domain name guide, step by step, with pictures.
Which languages do my customers see the menu in?
French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Italian. The customer chooses their language at the top of the widget. If your website already has its own language switcher, such as GTranslate, the widget follows the language chosen there. The names of your dishes stay as you entered them.
Are my dishes translated?
On your own WordPress website, no: they stay as you entered them. On a website hosted by ARDOIZA, your texts are translated automatically for visitors who choose another language. You review and correct each translation in the website's admin area: “Dashboard”, then “Translations”. A translation corrected by hand is shown as it is, without the words “Automatic translation”. No automatic translation replaces it. If you then change the original text, your correction is kept and marked “to check again”.
How do I close ordering while I am on holiday?
In “Ardoiza Orders”, “Settings”, untick “Take orders on the website”. For bookings, add a closure of the “Period (holidays)” type.
Licence and security
My licence is refused
The plugin's “Licence” screen tells you why. Each reason is explained in Updates, changing website, licence refused.
What happens if my payment fails?
We let you know by email, and you have fourteen days to sort it out in Billing: everything is restored as soon as the payment goes through. After seven days, your licence is no longer validated: the app no longer receives your orders, your website no longer accepts online orders or bookings, and statistics and downloads close. After fourteen days, your account returns to the free Menu plan: invoices that remained unpaid are cancelled, and you keep your account, your menu and your invoices. A hosted website becomes unavailable but is kept for thirty days, restored as it was if you take a plan with a website again; after that, it is deleted, with a full copy you can download for thirty days from My website, Copies of my website page.
What happens if ARDOIZA cannot be reached?
Your website carries on taking orders and bookings for 48 hours. It keeps the last valid answer and tries again every hour. After that, your licence is no longer valid: the menu stays on display, but orders and bookings are closed.
My licence is no longer valid: what do my customers see?
Your menu, always. But your website no longer accepts orders, bookings or promo codes. A message asks your customers to phone you, using the “Restaurant phone number” in your settings.
Where is my data, and my customers’ data?
On your WordPress website, with your host. Your menu, your orders, your bookings and your customers' contact details stay on your website. ARDOIZA receives no name, phone number, email address or order contents. For the app, the dashboard and online payment, ARDOIZA only receives or reads limited technical information about your orders and bookings: number, collection time, number of items, amount, payment method, number of guests and status. To check your licence, we also receive the key, the website address, the plugin version and a fingerprint of its files.
I think another browser is logged in to my account
Open Security, “Open sessions” card: every browser logged in to your customer area is listed there, with the device, the login date, the last activity and a shortened IP address. “Close this session” logs one browser out; “Close all other sessions” logs them all out except yours. Both ask for a two-factor authentication code. An email confirms each closure. Then change your password: this also closes all other sessions. Devices using the ARDOIZA Pro app are logged out from the “Connections” section.
