Linking your Stripe account
A single Stripe account covers your whole ARDOIZA account. You link it once, from one of these two places.
- Website hosted by ARDOIZA: My website, “Online payment” card.
- WordPress website: the “Online payment” screen of the Ardoiza Click & Collect or Ardoiza Bookings plugin, in your website's dashboard.
Click “Link my Stripe account” in your customer area, or “Connect my Stripe account” in the plugin. You are asked for a code from your authenticator app. It protects your account: nobody else can link an account from your customer area. If you ask, the ARDOIZA team can also prepare the link and fill in the Stripe sign-up with you; you accept Stripe's terms yourself. You are told by email, and the Stripe account is always opened in your restaurant's name, with your identity and your IBAN.
You then go to Stripe for a few minutes. Stripe asks for your identity, your bank details and your agreement to its terms. No key to copy, anywhere.
The Stripe account opened this way is in your name. Reusing a Stripe account you already have is not offered.
Choosing how your customers pay
The settings are made website by website, in the same place as the link.
| Setting | What your customer sees |
|---|---|
| Off | They pay in person on collection |
| Customer's choice | They choose: online by card, or in person on collection |
| Online payment required | They pay online by card to confirm their order |
Card payment is the only method offered. Neither Apple Pay nor Google Pay.
What your customer sees
When paying, your customer goes to Stripe's secure payment page. It shows your restaurant's name. Their card details pass neither through your website nor through ARDOIZA.
An order paid online only reaches you once the payment has been received. You then receive it as usual, marked “Paid online”.
Without payment within 30 minutes, the order is cancelled. It does not appear in the app or in your emails.
The booking deposit
You can ask for a deposit when guests book. It is mainly intended for large tables and private hire.
- Amount: fixed per booking, or per guest.
- Threshold: the deposit is requested from a number of guests, 8 by default.
- Private hire: a box extends it to every private hire request.
A fixed amount ranges from €1 to €500. An amount per guest ranges from €1 to €50. Multiplied by the number of guests, it is capped at €500 per booking.
A standard booking, below the threshold, never sees the deposit. Your guest reads the conditions before paying.
- It is refunded if you decline the request or cancel the booking.
- It is refunded if they cancel within the notice period you set.
- In the event of a no-show, you keep the deposit.
Refunds
When you decline or cancel an order paid online, your customer is refunded automatically. The same applies to a deposit, in the cases above.
The refund is taken from your Stripe account. Stripe's fees on the original payment are not returned to you.
For any other refund, full or partial, use your Stripe dashboard. ARDOIZA receives the information and shows it on the order.
What ARDOIZA does not do
- ARDOIZA takes no commission on your payments.
- ARDOIZA never holds the money: it goes straight to your Stripe account.
- ARDOIZA does not handle payouts or disputes. Everything happens in your Stripe dashboard.
- Stripe's fees remain yours to pay, according to Stripe's public pricing.
To remove ARDOIZA's access to your Stripe account, open your Stripe dashboard, then its settings, and remove ARDOIZA from your connected applications. To stop taking payments only, set your settings back to “Off”.
